On October 30, 2018, the Italian Program hosted an unforgettable show: the Arte dei Pupi--Sicilian Puppet Theater by Mimmo Cuticchio and his company, the Compagnia Figli D’Arte Mimmo Cuticchio. The tradition of puppet theater connects chivalric Renaissance poems with street performance and has survived through the centuries in Italy. Mimmo Cuticchio himself is a legend. It was a unique occasion to see in the U.S. a performance that UNESCO has named a Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
