Congratulations to Anne Olmstead, the wonderful Office Manager of the Departments of French & Italian and Germanic Languages, who received one of SLCL’s Marita Romine Distinguished Service Award. Her contributions to the life of these two units were described in these terms: “Anne exceeds high standards in overall work performance in multiple areas. She is seamlessly efficient in managing departmental business, organizes multiple aspects of teaching schedules, helps prepare for speaking events and workshops, and assists the Heads, faculty, visiting scholars, and graduate students in the multi-stage processing of payments and reimbursements in two units with just the necessary involvement of third parties. Her leadership as an OM contributes significantly to the overall success of our work. She is a great role model and an effective help for her colleagues on every level. As one of us put it in their feedback on Anne’s overall influence: “She has been a saving grace since the first day she arrived.” Congratulations and thank you, Anne!
